Lower Paxton Township Bus Trips: Deadly Crash Kills Three Passengers

A devastating bus crash occurred in Lower Paxton Township, Pennsylvania, resulting in the loss of three lives and leaving many others injured. The accident happened on Sunday night around 11:50 pm on Interstate 81 just north of Harrisburg.

According to eyewitness accounts, Matthew Oshiafi, a passenger on the Super Lucky Tour Company bus from Boston, recalled a terrible screeching and shuddering before the vehicle crashed and flipped. He described the scene as chaotic, with people thrown from their seats and others piled on top of each other.

Oshiafi, who was traveling to Cincinnati to visit family, said he saw a couple in a nearby seat with a baby, but the woman appeared to be unconscious, and the man was trying to help her. He also heard people screaming and witnessed severe injuries or unconsciousness around him.

Emergency responders were alerted when a passenger, Oshiafi, passed a baby through the broken bus windshield to them. The crash report revealed that the bus drove off the road, struck an embankment, rolled onto its right side, and hit the back of a stopped car in the right lane.

The bus was carrying up to 50 people from New York to Ohio when it crashed during heavy rain. State police reported three passengers declared dead at the scene, while others suffered injuries ranging from minor to severe. The investigation into this tragic event is ongoing.
